Connects breath and movement through a series of flowing postures. Flow (vinyasa) ties sun salutes, various asanas, and pranayama (breathwork) to build heat, explore energy centers, and increase awareness in the body, mind and spirit. Vinyasa tends towards strength building and flexibility.
Asthanga Yoga is a powerful and healing practice and is a specific sequence of postures (asanas ) linking breathe (pranayama ) and movement (vinyasa). It is a powerful flow, combining strength, flexibility and stamina for a complete practice. The benefits of Asthanga, is synchronizing breathing and movement in the asana heats the blood, heating and thinning it so it can move more freely.
Designed to establish balance in the body, by using a combination of longer held Yin poses, gentle movement, conscious breath work, myofascial release techniques and guided relaxation. The healing effects of a Yin practice include, but are not limited to: increasing range of motion, strength, elasticity and hydration of tissues; remodeling scar tissue; releasing toxins and deeply relaxing the mind and body. A nice compliment to any yoga practice and athletic endeavors, and great way to either help heal the body or support it.
Kundalini is the psychologist of yoga. Kundalini is the energy that coils at the base of the spine. This is creative, spiritual energy that is generally untapped, that’s what Kundalini Yoga is for. The idea during class, is to move this energy through the chakras and up into the brain. Your nervous system and body will be totally stimulated, and by the end of the class your whole body should be buzzing with spiritual awareness. It places a huge emphasis on meditation, mantra chanting, and holding postures. This combination of which activates the granular system, strengthens the nervous system, expands the lung capacity, and purifies the bloodstream. It is a supreme method to awaken your awareness and take you into your infinite self.
Hatha yoga classes use the breath to create a link between the body and the mind. It builds flexibility and strength while minimizing the chance of injury. This well-rounded style balances and opens the body. You will learn to still the mind and be present in the moment. In addition to more flexibility and strength, a hatha yoga practice will lead to all the other usual benefits of yoga–reduced stress, lower blood pressure, more energy and better sleep. Breathing techniques and mediation are also integrated.
Aerial yoga is a type of yoga which uses a hammock or yoga swing to allow students to perform postures that they may not ordinarily be able to attempt on the yoga mat. It combines traditional yoga poses, inspired by pilates and dance. Aerial yoga is particularly beneficial for students who spend a long time sitting, have back pain, because it’s a decompressing effect on the body. Aerial yoga has particular benefits for strengthening and stretching the whole body, decompressing the spine, improving circulation, boosting digestion, and strengthening the core.
A guided surrender into quiet, supported postures using bolsters and blankets. Gentle and long-held poses facilitate deep release in connective tissue guiding you towards total relaxation. Gentle yoga is a hidden gem of yoga. Gentle restorative yoga helps provide that physical and mental balance. Through that mental balance you connect to your higher level of consciousness. No yoga or meditation experience is needed and all levels are welcome.

This class takes you through an active, powerful style of yoga that combines the breath with the flow of sun-salutations into various standing and balancing poses. The practice also includes a challenging series of abdominal toners to strengthen core muscles while also providing lengthening stretches for a balanced strong and agile body.
A fitness-based approach to Vinyasa style flow. In a power flow class, you will connect breath and movement through a series of flowing postures. You can expect a great cardiovascular and strength building workout combined with breath work.
A meditate experience for both the mind and body! Restorative and Yin yoga poses require little or no muscular exertion; each post is held for several minutes with or without the use of props (blankets, bolsters, and blocks). Without the distraction of constant movement and muscle engagement, your connective tissues have the opportunity to stretch and release. Though you will receive intentional guidance during the class to notice any thoughts of sensations arising in your body; this is practice of silence and stillness. Participants leave feeling grounded, well rested, and nourished; with a new cultivated awareness. No yoga or meditation experience is needed and all levels are welcome.
There is a false perception that yoga is only for women. At A Mindful Movement, in our yoga for mens classes, we work on balancing strength with flexibility. We practice poses to bring freedom to the more inflexible areas: hamstrings, calves, shoulders and chest. The standing poses will improve the flexibility of your feet, ankles, legs and hips. They also develop your strength, balance and endurance. As well as allowing you to open to the awareness of your body, mind, and spirit.
Chair yoga is a gentle practice in which postures are performed while seated and/or with the aid of a chair. Chair yoga classes typically target those with physical challenges or aging men and women who find a typical yoga session too challenging. It is also a great form of yoga for beginners or anyone who wants to focus on a gentle practice. Just like a regular yoga practice, Chair yoga increases flexibility, strength and body awareness. When standing poses are included in a Chair yoga class, the chair is used to help with and improve balance. Chair yoga may also include pranayama breathing techniques and meditation to promote focus, mental clarity and relaxation.
